Srila Prabhupad fulfilled the prophecy of Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu: "pṛthivīte āche yata nagarādi grāma, sarvatra pracāra haibe mora nāma" - In every town and village, the chanting of My name will be heard. The glories of Shrila Prabhupad are unfathomable for all devotees who have been rescued from the ocean of nescience and given opportunity to make their human lives successful.
On this auspicious day of Nandotsav in 1896, the same year when Shrila Bhaktivinod Thakur sent the first book about Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu to the western world, Shrila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupad appeared for the deliverance of all conditioned souls. He is none other than the personification of Shri Krishna's mercy, who came to deliver us from material miseries and take us to the spiritual realm.
In ISKCON Vrindavan, which Prabhupad referred to as his home, devotees engage in his service with great enthusiasm. The Deities are offered new outfits, grand Gurupuja is held in the courtyard, senior Prabhupad disciples describe his transcendental qualities, and special preparations including Shukta, Kachodis, and Gulab Jamuns are offered to please him.
